Our Day
Sunrise, sunset,
beautiful flowers, colorful butterflies,
the breeze soft against my skin,
the grass beneath my feet soft as cotton,
the sky is blue, the ocean seems new,
the songs of birds are noisy lullabies,
afternoon flowers scent the air.
We play together as a family.
Everybody in the world is family
and could play together.
I wish my friend was here but she can't be,
so I feel sad and say good-bye.
Let's swim!
Grandmother and the grands (ages 10 and 6 1/2)
I typed this as they dictated to me their poem about our day together in Tobago.
var ccOptions = {
align: 'right'
};
function _initCulturalCreatives() {
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript');
script.setAttribute('src', ("https:" == document.location.protocol ? "https://" : "http://") + "culturalcreatives.cc/assets/js/widget-min.js");
document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script);
}
_loadMod = window.onload;
window.onload = (typeof window.onload != 'function') ? _initCulturalCreatives : function() { _loadMod(); _initCulturalCreatives(); };
A very summery, lovely poem. Well done, grands! That picture makes me want to go swimming, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe've been swimming every day and inventing games to play. Great fun.
DeletePrecious!
ReplyDeleteAre you back in Italy, or still swimming in warm springs?
The temps are 19 centigrade in our town in Italy today but we're still in Tobago where it's 82- perfect.
DeleteWhat fun to hear that you are working on poetry with the grands! Enjoy the precious time you have together.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter actually suggested the poetry writing and my grandson came up with the first line.
DeleteThis is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThey enjoyed the process and so did I.

ReplyDeleteWarmth in winter is very special, and so are the grands.
DeleteThat is such an exquisite moment in time. Captured for them to treasure forever.
ReplyDeleteIn their own words. These moments are exquisite.
