We were woven
with desire, you and I,
enticed by promises
to explore friendship 'til
flickers fanned to flames,
hearts unpacked of baggage
brought to this union, clamps
undone, bulldozed of notions
not exact to our particulars,
which missed us, served up
another story. Ours-
a simple giving to each
other, prayers projected
but exceeded.
This is woven from word lists of the inimitable Shay over at Imaginary Gardens with Real Toads and offered for the G-Man for Friday Flash 55.

I love 'prayers projected but exceeded.' You are a very fortunate couple indeed. And what a nice photo you shared as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. Yes, very fortunate to be married to my best friend.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Sunny.
DeleteMy dear sweet lover, these words made me cry. I love you so much!
ReplyDeleteAnd I you.
DeleteThis is so lovely. By the way your link on FF55 didn't work. I got here by going to your profile, then your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's a hurdle for me- I've tried a couple of things people have kindly suggested but I'm missing a step that they tke for granted but I mess up. Thank you for your persistence- I appreciate it.
DeleteI love the last line, especially, but the whole thing is rich and lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks. When I was young, my mother encouraged me to pray for the man who would become my husband. Although that presupposed a number of things, I found it meaningful at the time. I told my Honey that I prayed for a strong and mighty oak but I found the great blue sky.
Deletea simple giving to each other...that wraps it up nicely for me...its all bout giving...and in that you get back...and the prayers certainly help along the way as well...smiles...
ReplyDeleteA good recipe for sucess!
DeleteMary...
ReplyDeleteI so envy those that have found everlasting Love.
You are lucky and you know it!
