  4. I love figs. A little goat cheese inside, wrapped in good prosciutto, drizzled in balsamic and into the oven a bit. Mmmm... And as I was writing that, I was jealous (again!) of your wonderful location. I'm betting that the components of my dish are ever so much better there than here.

  5. Patti, Yes- local goat cheese, aged prosciutto, local balsamic- but your recipe sounds so good and I haven't done it that way. Yet.

  6. I ache for a couple of these. We had a tree by our apartment building in Istanbul. Eating the shipped ones here just isn't the same. Eat one for me! And your recipe shared with PattiKen, yum.

  7. I have never had a fig. Closest I've come is a Fig Newton...and I have a feeling they're nothing like the real thing. You've piqued my curiosity!

  8. Ruth, They literally melt in my mouth. I eat them for as long as they're in season and my mouth has such a good time.

Lisa, Get the kind pictured here. They feel soft and plump. And the taste- heavenly.
