Doing What's Right

"A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise." - Aldo Leopold

A simple criteria, not easy but simple.

  7. We're trying to eat seasonal and local as much as we can... And cutting back more on meat. It's a challenge to find affordable AND easy options though, when a bicycle is your chosen means of transport and you live in a town! Luckily, we get many veggies and some dairy delivered from the organic farm. It means thinking ahead and doing without things that aren't in season, but that's what's important to me these days.

  8. Love the seasonal foods - aren't we lucky to have summer right now on this part of the planet?

  9. You know what bounty summer brings to New England. It's August,so that means tomatoes and corn, every chance I get.

    Wonderful photos.

  10. Nan, Brava! We had baskets on our bikes as kids. Don't they still? Have you read Kingsolver's book on this topic: "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle"? It's fabulous! You're growing those boys' bodies right. Good for you!

Linda, Seasonal food in abundance- lucky we are!

Patti, I was just there and partook of it. I carry it in my body now as well as the sweet memories.
