A-Z Words Count

A boy considers doing
everything frightening girls.
He isn't just kidding,
likes mentioning names. Only,
people question rumors so
terrible.
Unless viciousness warrants
x-rays, you zoneout.

In response to the prompt yesterday from Marian at Imaginary Gardens with Real Toads to write a poem using words that start with the letters of the alphabet in order. I missed the deadline, however, so I post this for Mama Zen's words count, also at the Garden, as a poem with less than 45 words.

  1. Your A-Z is excellent. The first stanza reads so naturally that I would never have thought it governed by the alphabet.

  2. How naturally your verses flow! Though I question the word count (2x26), you have shown TWICE that words count! I hope Woman X shows up and acts zealously!

    1. Oops, math is not my strong suit. I, too, root for women but that they X their yokes zealously. Strict letter order has its limitations.

    2. Okay, I went back to the first one to keep to the word limit.

    1. It's hard to come up with a z word but I think it is what we do too often in the face of less than lethal behaviors.

    1. Yes, a difficult theme that got more focused by the limitations of the form.

  15. Wow! How on earth did you do that? I found the A to Z impossible to do.

    1. The topic was in the news and on my mind so when the prompt came and I had never done one before this flowed out with very little rewrite.
